Educare

Privacy policy

What Educare collects through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Draft. This page describes how the website works today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and the highlighted details are still to be confirmed by Educare.

Who is responsible

Educare is run by Manoj Kumar Jena, at Takatpur, Near Union Bank, Baripada, Mayurbhanj, Odisha 757003. For any question about your information, contact educarebpd26@gmail.com.

What we collect, and why

  • Admission enquiry form. The student's name, a phone number, and, if you choose to give them, the student's class and the programme you are interested in. We also record the date and time, and which version of this policy you agreed to. We use this only to call you back about admission.
  • Delete my data form. The phone number you ask us to delete, and the date. We use this only to find and delete your enquiry and to confirm the request with you.
  • Review form. The name you give and your review. Both are shown publicly on the Reviews page if Educare approves the review. We also record the date and time, and which version of this policy you agreed to.
  • Calls and WhatsApp. If you call or message us, we receive your number and whatever you tell us. WhatsApp is run by Meta, which handles your messages under its own privacy policy.
  • Technical records. The company that hosts this website (Vercel Inc.) may record technical details such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver the site and keep it secure.
  • Gallery photos. Photos of the institute and its classes. A student who can be recognised is shown only with their parent or guardian's agreement. To have a photo of you or your child removed, contact us.
  • Page counts. The website counts how many times each of its main pages is opened each day, so we know which pages are useful. The count is only a number for each page. It holds nothing about you, your device or your visit, and uses no cookie.

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies or any outside analytics service, does not send marketing emails or newsletters, and does not ask for a date of birth, an address, an email address or identity documents.

Why we are allowed to use it

We use your enquiry details because you asked us to contact you and ticked the box agreeing to it. You can withdraw that agreement at any time by asking us to delete your details. The law that applies is the law of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Students under 18

Many of our students are under 18. An enquiry about a student under 18 should be sent by a parent or guardian, and the form asks the sender to confirm this. We do not ask for a date of birth or proof of age. If you believe a child has sent us their details without a parent or guardian, tell us and we will delete them. Reviews are shown publicly, so a review about a student under 18 must be sent by their parent or guardian, and the review form asks the sender to confirm this.

Who else handles it

  • Supabase provides the database where enquiries, deletion requests, reviews, notices and page counts are stored, and the file storage that holds gallery photos. When you open the Gallery page, the photos are loaded from Supabase. Storage location: To be confirmed.
  • The website host (Vercel Inc.) delivers the pages to you.
  • Meta (WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook), only if you choose to message us or follow our links there.

The website does not send your details to anyone else.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for 2 months and are then deleted automatically. When a deletion request is completed, we keep a record that a deletion was made and when, without the phone number. A review is kept until you ask us to remove it or Educare removes it. Page counts hold no personal information and are kept.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To have your enquiry deleted, use the Delete my data page or contact us. To have your review taken down or deleted, contact us. If you are not satisfied with our answer, Indian law lets you complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

How it is protected

Enquiries are stored in a database set up so that this public website can add an enquiry but cannot read enquiries back. Only signed-in Educare staff can see them. Staff can mark how far an enquiry has got (for example called or visited) and add a short note, and both are deleted with the enquiry. A review cannot be seen by visitors until staff approve it. No system is completely secure, and we do not promise that this one is.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the website handles your information, we will update this page and its version date.
